Goal Acheived!

Hey y’all! Hope everyone is still doing the best they can with these circumstances.

I wanted to let y’all know that I did something I’ve been wanting and meaning to do for some time, I applied to agencies! I know it may sound odd that I did so while our industries are literally shut down- mostly- but my outlook on it was that there likely wouldn’t be a worse time to do it and I felt I finally had the necessary materials to do so; so why not?

This past year of pandemonium for me has been a roller coaster ride of creativity and productivity. I’ll have a week of awesome motivation to create and work toward goals, etc, then right after, a week of the exact opposite. I know that’s been the case for so many of us, but I’m here to encourage you not to dwell on the down times. Take solace knowing that you are in no way alone in having those bouts of un-productivity and a lack of motivation. It is OK. Take them as they come, and more importantly, take care of yourself in the process.

Something I did for the new year which has been really helping me is I made a check list of goals on my phone. Long- term and short-term goals- having easy-to-complete, short-term goals in your list is a really important part of a goal list because it helps keep you focused and motivated by allowing you to regularly check things off the list instead of having a long-term list that you’re seemingly never accomplishing. The other trick I do- my list is on a Note on my phone- is I keep that Note open always on my phone, I never close out the app. This way, anytime I go in the app Scroll-View mode, I see the note there and am thus constantly reminded of it.

2021 is already shaping up to be another wild year, but at this point we have all adapted to this new world, and it’s time for us to start taking advantage of the way things are now. Set your goals, start or keep working toward them, allow yourself to have ups AND downs- the downs will pass, and always check in with and take care of yourself! Much love always.
